Tenable Report

Data Center and core network attacks persist in creative and increasingly diverse ways.   Recall in 2021, the Log4j Vulnerability exposed millions of devices putting big tech companies at risk. More than 400 exploitation attempts per second were observed a mere five days following the flaw’s disclosure.  Most recently, the Spring4Shell vulnerability of 2022 bypassed a patch from 2010 making the vulnerability exploitable again. The US Federal Cybersecurity Advisory ? CISA ? cataloged 25,000 new vulnerabilities in 2022 alone.  They identified a core subset of CVEs as “Known Exploited Vulnerabilities” ? KEVs.

Misapplication of what you have installed can create blind spots, compromised assets, data loss and access doors through which bad actors may attack. However, this study is about the vendors you chose to partner with. It’s not just the ability to recognize a particular kind of attack, but the speed in recognizing it.
