Virtual Next-Generation Firewalls (vNGFWs)

Virtual Next-Generation Firewalls (vNGFWs) support the same level of security and advanced threat prevention features available in hardware firewalls.  The benefits of the cloud, virtualization, and NFV technologies are well-known, and the risks of data loss and associated business disruption remain significant challenges to businesses. Palo Alto Networks Virtual Next Generation Firewall protected throughput for VM-Series virtual firewall was measured with all security features enabled including Threat Prevention (AV, Vulnerability Protection, Anti-spyware, File Blocking and Application Control), URL Filtering, and WildFire. For FortiGate-VM, “services on” involved turning on these features and services: Antivirus, Web Filter, IPS, and Application Control. Tests were intended to show how Palo Alto Networks provided the following:
