The Catalyst 9500 and 9600 Series has been greatly enhanced since we tested them in 2021. This report shows the new values in performance with Unicast, Multicast, throughput, and latency. Additionally, we looked at FIB Scale, MAC Scale, and High Availability with NSF, SSO, and NSR.
These results confirm that the Cisco Catalyst 9500/9600 show marked improvement from the 2021 testing that was preformed previously. The newer Catalyst 9500X and C9600X version exceeds expectations for performance.
Key Findings for the Cisco Catalyst C9500X / C9600X Series:
- The Cisco Catalyst C9500X-28C8D delivers 12 Tbps bandwidth with line rate performance from frame sizes between 400 – 9216 bytes and an astounding average 3.2 microseconds latency across all frame sizes.
- The Cisco C9600X-SUP-2 delivers 25.6 Tbps bandwidth with fully loaded C9606 Chassis with line rate performance from frame sizes between 1024 – 9216 bytes.
- Cisco Non-Stop Forwarding (NSF) works with SSO proven sub seconds traffic downtime.
