Cisco 8000 Series Routers complete this journey by delivering provider-class routing functionality at unmatched density, performance, and power per bit. This enables Cisco 8000 Series Routers to be deployed into an unprecedented range of routing roles – all supported with a single ASIC architecture for seamless operations, deployment, and qualification.
- All platforms were able to achieve line rate performance with bi-directional traffic:
- On 8200 and 8800 Series Routers, activation of ingress & egress QoS, ingress & egress ACL, NetFlow, and uRPF features were possible on all ports. Routers were able to deliver line rate performance without packet loss.
- On the 88xx and 82xx hardware with High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), FIB was programmed with up to 4M IPv4 routes or up to 3M IPv6 routes.
- For 800G-capable routers, all 800G ports could be activated and used simultaneously without density penalty, leveraging full system capacity and bandwidth.
